Job Description
As Clover expands to meet increasing demands and support its global growth, building a resilient and scalable platform is essential. The Boarding team in EMEA plays a critical role in enabling new markets and supporting merchants in EMEA. To drive innovation, platform modernization, quality, and timely delivery, we are seeking a Full Stack Engineer who will contribute to Java server-side development while also streamlining software delivery through automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure management. This role calls for an engineer comfortable working across the entire technology stack, from backend services that power Clover’s onboarding and maintenance flows to the tools that ensure secure and reliable deployments.
This role will be pivotal in developing robust test automation frameworks to enhance platform reliability, reduce production defects, and enable seamless continuous integration and deployment. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving engineering best practices, the Full Stack Engineer will help setup build, test, and monitor platform performance and strengthen platform resilience. This is a hands-on engineering role that blends Java development with DevOps practices, offering the opportunity to scale globally while maintaining speed, quality, and reliability.
Daily Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of REST APIs that power Merchant Boarding and maintenance to support Fiserv's business goals.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Interact with internal customers and development team to gather and define requirements and document architecture.
- Refactor and optimize existing services for performance and maintainability.
- Participate in peer code reviews to uphold engineering best practices.
- Build and implement CICD pipelines for spring, java and web applications using Jenkins, Spinnaker and GitHub on Google Cloud Platform
- Containerize applications and deploy on Kubernetes clusters on GCP.
- Buildout the Kubernetes capabilities and evangelize the adaption of Kubernetes within engineering organization.
- Manage infrastructure and configuration using Terraform and puppet.
- Build robust monitoring alerting around devops stack using Grafana, PagerDuty.
- Ensure low-latency, high-availability solutions that scale with global growth.
- Support production systems and participate in KTLO (Keep the Lights On) activities.
- Provides on call and off-hours support for critical applications on rotation basis.
Requirements For Consideration
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with expertise in backend and server-side engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Java programming language.
- Experience with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience working on Cloud services such as GCP or AWS
- Experience with Terraform/Puppet or other equivalent configuration management framework.
- Experience with Git, Github, Gitlab
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and agile methodologies.
- Experience in SQL databases and designing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerized deployments (e.g., Kubernetes) preferred.
- Strong design and problem-solving skills with a focus on building scalable, resilient systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Proven ability to balance feature delivery with performance, security, and operational excellence.
