We’re currently seeking a passionate Senior or Associate Civil Engineer to join our Water Group and lead the design and delivery of innovative infrastructure projects for SA Water. Based in Adelaide, our Water Utilities team is a vibrant, high-performing group committed to sustainable and forward-thinking solutions. We’re looking for someone who can bridge the gap between junior engineers and experienced Principal Engineers — someone who thrives on collaboration, mentoring, and continuous learning.
This is a technical role where you will deliver the design and documentation of earthworks, pavements, drainage and pipelines.
About The Role
Joining us as an Senior Engineer or an Associate Engineer, you will
As a Senior or Associate Civil Engineer, you will:
- Deliver high-quality civil designs across all project phases — from concept to completion — with a strong understanding of multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Prepare and review accurate, industry-compliant technical documentation (knowledge of WSAA, SA Water Standards, or Australian Standards is a plus).
- Lead or support the management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects and program work packages.
- Provide exceptional client service and consistently exceed expectations.
- Contribute to proposal writing and help secure exciting new projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
About You
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Actively working towards professional chartership.
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, ideally within water infrastructure.
- Strong technical knowledge in earthworks, stormwater, pavements, drainage, and pipeline design.
- Passion for mentoring junior engineers and building team capability.
- Skilled in developing and managing client relationships.
- Familiar with relevant legislation, standards, and safety-in-design principles.
- Solid understanding of quality assurance and health & safety systems.
