Position Summary: GC Pro Sr. Design Engineer

The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and approval of integrated audio-visual system designs and installations. This position ensures all projects meet the highest technical standards, are fully documented, and comply with GC Pro’s operational procedures. In addition to providing technical expertise, the Senior Design Engineer manages installation teams, supervises project execution, and serves as the final authority for installation approvals.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Provide final approval for all AV system designs, installations, and integration deliverables before project completion.
  • Manage and oversee all installation processes, including coordination of field teams, subcontractors, and internal staff.
  • Ensure all project paperwork, documentation, and procedures are completed accurately and submitted on schedule.
  • Specify and approve equipment, installation methods, and integration with facilities and architecture.
  • Review and sign off on detailed project documentation, including design drawings, functional diagrams, and submittals.
  • Conduct site visits to verify installation quality, compliance, and system optimization.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve escalated technical issues.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and installation staff.
  • Manage project costs and schedules to ensure compliance with budgets and deadlines.
  • Partner with sales representatives during client meetings to support technical proposals and estimates.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to ensure timely receipt of required components and services.
  • Stay current with AV technologies, software, and industry best practices, ensuring team adherence to evolving standards.

Qualifications

To join our band, you'll need the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive AV design/engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior engineering role.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and manufacturer-specific software.
  • In-depth knowledge of audio, video, control systems, and networking principles.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple installations simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret and refine architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Proven experience managing field teams, troubleshooting systems, and ensuring quality assurance.
