Summary/Objective
The Engineer Tech 1, Test & Automation position provides test & validation support from initial concept through manufacturing. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, build, and execute test plans, and test fixtures to support product development testing, and end-of-line testing. The ideal candidate will have background in basic mechanical and electrical diagrams, mechanical and electrical assemblies, and basic software programming.

  • Essential Function
  • Design, build, operate, and maintain test fixtures and automated test equipment for PCBs and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Work with engineers and other technicians to develop and maintain test systems to automate and streamline engineering laboratory product testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, develop, and execute test plans to ensure quality
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate testing into the product development cycle
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts test fixtures
  • Create, maintain, and present test reports
  • Design and implement test fixtures for the entire product lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, troubleshoot, repair, and improvements
  • Ensure that all testing equipment, hardware, and software is properly calibrated and maintained
  • Analyze and report test results to the development team and make recommendations for improvements
  • Participate in product design reviews to identify potential quality issues early in the development cycle
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience utilizing LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, Java, or other programming languages is preferred
  • Familiarity with testing of PCBAs, electro-mechanical, and electronic assemblies
  • Familiarity designing and implementing test fixtures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English. Spanish is a plus.

  • Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (2-Year Technical Degree preferred).

· Minimum of 4 years of experience in electronic, mechanical, pneumatic prototyping in a technical environment.

  • Work Environment
  • Office setting with occasional visits to customer sites and testing facilities.
  • Safe work environment with minimal exposure to hazards.
  • Standard office hours with occasional overtime or weekend work for project deadlines.


Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to regularly sit, stand, and walk. The individual may occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Good vision is necessary for computer work and detailed design tasks, and dexterity is needed for typing and handling engineering materials. Additionally, there may be occasional movement and setup of testing equipment and prototypes.
