About This Position:

The Data Analytics Internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in designing and optimizing data solutions that power analytics across LMCU. This role is ideal for students passionate about building scalable data systems and ensuring data quality to enable actionable insights. The Data Analytics Intern will work closely with our Data Engineering, Business Intelligence and Data Governance teams to develop robust data pipelines, maintain data integrity, and support enterprise analytics initiatives.

What You’Ll Do:

• Develop and Optimize Data Pipelines: Assist in building ETL/ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and prepare data for analytics using SQL, Python, and cloud-based platforms.
• Ensure Data Quality and Governance: Apply best practices for data validation, integrity, and compliance to maintain trusted datasets across the organization.
• Create Analytical Assets: Support the development of dashboards, reports, and data models that enable business teams to make informed decisions.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Data Engineering, Business Intelligence and Data Governance teams to align solutions with enterprise data strategy and governance standards.
• Contribute to Innovation: Explore emerging technologies and techniques in data engineering to recommend improvements for scalability and performance.

What You’Ll Bring:

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and pipeline development.
• Familiarity with data engineering concepts (ETL pipelines, data modeling, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Exposure to data governance principles and metadata management is a plus.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Tools: Experience with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and version control (Git).
• Academic Performance: Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and curiosity to learn in a fast-paced environment.
