Job Summary

The Energy Assistance Program Specialist is responsible for supporting federal, State and internal Energy Assistance programs for Vistra’s low-income / at-risk customers within both ERCOT and the MWNE markets and across all brands. This role is responsible for assisting the Sr. Manager, Customer Advocacy Services in delivering on established public outreach plan such as coordinating Beat the Heat and Winter Warmth events in all Vistra markets, identifying and driving initiatives to increase the percentage of federal funds received by Vistra customers and assisting in efforts to increase Energy Aid program donations and enhance / expand current and future programs. Additionally, this role is responsible for coordinating and supporting agency education, intake sessions and all agency and Energy Assistance reporting.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Partner with Revenue Processing to provide oversight of daily agency payments and reconciliation thereof Act as SME for low-income programs and related rules throughout Vistra marketsManage Energy Aid monthly reports tracking system for all brands including reports reconciliation and agency follow-up for ~80 partner agencies Assist in the analysis and recommendation of MWNE Energy Aid program expansion; monitor program to determine effectivenessProcess Energy Aid disbursement checks ~$5 million annually, Energy Assistance contributions and other payments ~$500k through the accounts payable processPartner cross-functionally to raising additional Energy Aid donations; drive initiativesManage contribution reports and year end contribution tax lettersCoordinate and support on-site agency education events and customer intake events Manage Customer Advocacy Services promotional items including ordering, inventory, location, shipment of items and vendor relationshipsSupport Corporate & Retail Compliance in the completion of annual PUC reportingSupport company programs such as United Way / Energy Aid, PAC, etc.Perform analysis to determine if Vistra customers are receiving their fair share of federal dollars and identify opportunities to improve percentage of receipt•Approximately 50% of travel required.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

2+ years job related experienceSubject matter expert in bill payment assistance programs and low-income market rules preferredStrong communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation / public speaking skillsIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office apps required (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, macros, etc.)Solid report writing and analysis skillsAbility to work independently, render good judgment and make sound decisions based on program parametersExperience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills

Key Metrics

Provides department management each month with status of all  TXU Energy Aid monthly reports in accordance with rules and auditTimeliness and accuracy of Energy Assistance monthly reporting, distribution and recording of Contribution tax letters, Energy Aid disbursements for all brands, Energy Assistance contributionsEnsures company policies, procedures and Public Utility Commission Customer Protection Rules are met in managing daily workload agency sponsorships and vendor paymentsContributory responsibility in achieving PUC complaint metricsContributory responsibility in percentage of federal dollars receivedDelivery of identified projects and initiatives Documented processes and proceduresPercentage of agencies utilizing web portal to self-serve
