About The Opportunity

We’re looking for a passionate Manager or Senior Accountant with a solid grasp of Australian tax and a proactive mindset to join our Esperance, WA team. You will be ready to step into your next challenge and excited at the prospect of building your career in Public Practice, all while working directly with clients and mentoring junior staff.

You will work closely with our existing Directors and Managers to gain the experience, exposure and knowledge required for you to advance in your career. We have a dedicated Training Manager, who will tailor training and development to you to give you the best start at Byfields.

As a Manager/ Senior Tax Accountant, you will:

• Perform all core responsibilities listed, including client service, tax planning, and preparation of BAS, financials, and tax returns
• Take ownership of high-value client relationships, providing strategic tax and business advisory services
• Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering their growth while managing client portfolios
• Help shape and refine business processes, contributing to the overall development of the office’s client services
• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive business growth

About You

The ideal candidate will be someone who:

• Has experience in public practice (ideally 5+ years)
• Is CA/CPA qualified, or working towards
• Has proficiency in compliance tasks, reconciliation and taxation
• Coordinates tasks efficiently to streamline daily operations and meet deadlines
• Desires career growth and development within a supportive team environment
• Is a strong communicator, who can interact confidently with clients and guide the team
• Passionate about mentoring others and developing leadership skills to take on managerial responsibilities
• Shows flexibility and enthusiasm in performing additional tasks within your capabilities, contributing to the team’s overall success.
• Is tech-savvy and takes ownership of adapting to new systems quickly
