About The Role:

Wolters Kluwer is seeking a motivated and talented professional as an Xactly Principal Architect (Associate Director) to join our Xactly Center of Excellence (COE) that supports 5 core divisions and 3,000+ sellers across 140+ countries. As part of our global sales transformation team, the COE partners with each of the Wolters Kluwer Divisions & Business Units to support the administration and adoption of our Xactly platform and end-to-end sales incentive compensation architecture.

As the Associate Director, Xactly Principal Architect, you will provide leadership and guidance to a team of technical developers, administrators, and QA analysts. Additionally, you will act as an internal consult, supporting multiple divisions and partner with corporate and divisional functions to help drive strategic initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness. Your role will be essential in developing and implementing innovative processes, compensation programs, and support systems to ensure the success of our sales teams and alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide Xactly developers, administrators and analysts within the Xactly Center of Excellence.
  • Govern the performance and route-to-market across multiple Xactly instances.
  • Drive strategic projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Act as the global subject matter expert and player/coach to develop and implement advanced and adoptable processes, modernized functionality, and ensure global technical preparedness for all commissions systems (including multiple Xactly instances).
  • Architect and manage development of complex programs that leverage Xactly's products.
  • Act as the player/coach to assess, configure, and deploy commission/incentive plans, workflows and custom apps (in Xactly Extend); including management of internal developers and/or liaise with external consultants.
  • Coach and mentor developers and analysts as internal consultants and other roles in the Xactly COE.
  • Provide leadership, and prepare and/or support regular reconciliations, controls and audit processes to ensure data integrity and reduce risk.
  • Enhance and govern data architecture, security, and retention across the sales compensation program's ecosystem.
  • Align operational strategies with overall business objectives and strategic programs.
  • Enhance and govern data architecture, security, and retention across the sales compensation program's ecosystem.
  • Be a core strategic leader to the Xactly COE as the Principal Architect of Xactly, building relationships and partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Operations, IT (Global Business Services), Finance, Accounting, HR, and others where necessary.
  • Partner with Xactly and other partnering organizations in Product maintenance, enhancements, and R&D where applicable.

Skills & Experiences:

  • 7+ years of Commission System configuration and development; or 4+ years of Xactly development responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Xactly Knowledge: Xactly Connect, Extend, Reporting, Administrator, and Plan Configuration Certification(s), or ability to obtain after onboarding
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically while considering tactical implications.
  • Communications: Communicates difficult concepts and influences others to adopt a different point of view.
  • Persuasion: Ability to socialize ideas and get executive buy-in.
  • Organization: Excellent execution, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Presentation Creation: Strong experience with Powerpoint and Excel
  • Leadership: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships across various teams and coaching/mentoring those in the COE.
  • "Compensation System Management: Proven experience in sales compensation administration, governance, and technical design/configuration/development, with an understanding of compensation methodologies and functional best practices. 
  • Xactly Administration: Proven experience overseeing commission system administration, including plan configuration, dispute/inquiry management, workflows, document management & templates, system/product maintenance, data quality & preparedness, and general Xactly administrator activities
  • Root Cause Analysis: Proven experience identifying root causes of common disputes/inquiries or other related challenges, then prioritizing and delivering improvements that strengthens operational excellence across process, policy, technology, and data.
  • Xactly Development: Experience creating custom apps, automating processes, establishing new integrations, or creating custom analytics capabilities
  • Intake & Assess: Experience intaking business requests, synthesizing the requests and prioritizing based on business ROI, scalability, etc. while strengthening the maturity and performance of the commissions system(s).
  • Plan Configuration: Experience configuring Commission Plan & Spiff/Incentive designs into Xactly (other ICM vendors will be considered)
  • Document Management: Experience managing document templates and workflows for annual transitions, new hires, and role transfers.
  • Analytics: Ability to develop and/or guide development in Xactly Reporting (leveraging experience with Data Studio) to build insightful and complex reports & dashboards.
  • Analytical: Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate insightful analytics from complex data effectively and with a scalable approach. 
  • Data Governance: Experience establishing data governance practices and structured models to generate insightful analytics
  • Integrations: Experience with ETL tools (i.e. Informatica) for data automation & transformation
  • Product Releases: Oversee the releases of Xactly product enhancements & maintenance
  • Coding: SQL (advanced-required)
  • Coding: Python, Java, C++, etc
  • POV: Point-of-View on Artificial Intelligence in Sales Compensation, Sales Performance, Data Structuring, etc
  • ICM Knowledge: Certifications from other ICM systems (i.e. Varicent, SAP-Callidus)
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically while considering tactical implications.
