Salary: Up to £13,000.00 actual salary per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Chair to join their team of staff in the Senior Management Team department.

This is a Part time role for 4 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties Of This Role Include:

  • Represent medical interests at hospital and corporate leadership levels, supporting strategic planning and business development.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including NHS partners, GPs, private payors, and patient representatives, to strengthen the hospital’s reputation and partnerships.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of clinical improvement and audit programmes, ensuring corrective action is taken where necessary.
  • Ensure alignment with national and international clinical standards and guidance.
  • Provide senior medical advice on innovation, new treatments, and service improvements.
  • Support the Executive Director in managing clinical complaints and incidents, ensuring learning and action.
  • Ensure a robust system of medical governance is implemented across the hospital.
  • Provide regular assurance on medical compliance, appraisal, and performance standards.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • GMC-registered medical practitioner with a licence to practise.
  • Substantive consultant-level experience with proven leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrable expertise in clinical governance, audit, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to chair high-level committees (e.g. MAC, governance committees).
  • Experience in medical workforce management, including appraisal and performance oversight.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of working effectively as part of a senior leadership team.
