Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Program Director leads the development of early childhood programs that align with our strategic direction, establishing child-centered goals and measurable outcomes to support children’s growth and developmental milestones. You will report to the Senior Director.
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Primary Tasks:
- 1. Design and oversee daily activities that align with the mission and our goals, ensuring that all program activities support the developmental needs of children in a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment.
- 2. Collaborate on implementing goals that promote child development, academic readiness, and social-emotional growth, encouraging a well-rounded, supportive learning experience.
- 3. Use assessment tools to evaluate program quality, monitor developmental outcomes, and gather feedback on strengths and areas for improvement.
- 4. Contribute to procedure overview to ensure they meet best practices and legal standards for early childhood education, adjusting to enhance program functionality and child safety.
- 5. Oversee budget allocations and spending with a focus on providing quality resources, age-appropriate materials, and safe facilities that support the children’s well-being and the program’s educational goals.
- 6. Maintain accurate records, including attendance, developmental assessments, and incident reports, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support individualized child development.
- 7. Assess and address risks associated with childcare activities, including facility safety, child safety, and health protocols, creating a safe and secure environment for all children.
- 8. Guide and support early childhood staff in best practice for classroom management, instructional methods, and child interaction; conduct regular check-ins, provide performance feedback, and encourage professional development aligned with early childhood education.
- 9. Organize staff meetings focused on child development updates, program improvements, and any behavioral or developmental support needs.
- 10. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Education And Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in education related field and;
- Three [3] years of experience in a childcare setting
- Three [3] years of experience in management related field
- Advanced experience maintaining budgets
- Experience in planning and implementing early childhood programs and educational programs
- Familiarity with state and tribal licensing regulations and health and safety standards
- Knowledge of tribal customs, values, and cultural practices
