What You’Ll Be Serving Up:
This role is part of Yum! Brands’ Global Strategy team within the KFC global division, one of the company’s largest growth engines. The Global Strategy Team turns data into decisions that grow sales, profits, and the brand across our worldwide portfolio. As a Global Strategy Analyst, you’ll lead short- to medium-term strategy projects including, but not limited to digital development, loyalty programs, and franchisee partnerships, and partner with internal customers across BMUs and global functions to size whitespace, model financials, and translate competitive insights into executive-ready recommendations that accelerate unit development, drive same-store sales, and grow digital/loyalty penetration. You are a self-starter who turns ambiguous questions into structured analysis and clear decisions.
Here’s How You’ll Spice Things Up:
Strategic Planning & Analysis - 45%
- Manage strategy KPI dashboards (e.g., SSSG, transactions, digital mix) and independently run recurring channel/occasion and digital-development analyses that feed quarterly leadership reviews.
- Partner with Data & Analytics to stand up and run near-real-time (daily/weekly) performance refreshes; act as day-to-day contact with internal partners to align metric definitions and shape how results are visualized and analyzed, packaging outputs into tidy workbooks and one-page readouts.
- Build clear, executive-ready narratives, including modeling, for quarterly strategy reviews, board updates, and key leadership meetings.
- Support strategic development by modeling acquisition, developing market/peer comps & precedents, and constructing defensible cases (base/upside/downside) grounded in unit economics, synergy drivers, and integration assumptions.
Competitive Intelligence - 35%
- Maintain a living view of how we win market-by-market: competitor financials, share trends, menu/price moves, channel shifts, and capability gaps.
- Partner with Insights/Finance to codify momentum metrics and signal where to double-down or pivot.
- Translate signals into actionable callouts (where to double-down or pivot), explicitly weighing trade-offs, risks, and expected impact; highlight complexity drivers.
Franchisee & Portfolio Health - 20%
- Own the franchisee portfolio health dashboard and governance (in partnership with the Yum Franchising Office), turning submissions into insights and action flags for the Strategy leadership team.
- Track enterprise risks that matter for growth (capital access, supply, regulatory, macro) and quantify mitigation choices.
- Analyze large-franchisee performance and capital posture to inform refranchising and investment decisions.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- 3-5 years in management consulting, investment banking, Big Four (TS/valuation/strategy), corporate strategy, or similar analytical roles with demonstrated ownership of short- to medium-term projects
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint; comfort turning ambiguity into structure and story.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with teams, strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Systems minded with the ability to improve processes and capabilities to derive insights
- Hands-on M&A modeling exposure (comps/precedents, DCF, scenario & sensitivity analysis; accretion/dilution basics); experience translating models into concise investment cases.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with restaurant/retail consumer businesses
What’S In It For You:
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunity to innovate within a global brand and make a significant impact.
- Collaborative, fast-paced work environment with a focus on professional growth and development.
