Culinary Arts Internship – Now Accepting Applications for Fall/Winter 2025

Join The Cypress of Charlotte team as a Culinary Arts Intern and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, professional kitchen environment. Our internship program offers aspiring chefs the opportunity to rotate through two of Cypress’ prominent kitchens, building both confidence and technical skills across diverse culinary settings. Interns will also participate in special events, banquets, and themed action stations to broaden their real-world experience.

• Training Highlights:
• Interns will receive in-depth training in areas including:
• Meat and fish fabrication
• Knife skills
• A la carte and buffet/banquet service
• Classical sauce preparation
• Fresh pasta production
• Plate design and presentation

Position Details:

Type:  Temporary, fulltime

• Schedule:  35–40 hours/week on average (subject to business needs)
• Shift Availability: Day, evening, weekends, and holidays

Wage:  $18.00/hour

• Duration:  Minimum 12-week commitment
• Transportation:  Must provide own transportation to/from work
• Potential for Permanent Hire: Successful interns may apply for permanent roles upon completion of the program

Requirements:

1. A degree from an accredited culinary training program is required.
2. Must commit to a minimum of 12 weeks of full-time training.
3. Strong interest in developing culinary skills across various service styles.
4. Commitment to high standards of guest service and teamwork.
5. Preference given to candidates with prior internship or externship experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs for up to 10 hours
• Capable of working in a physically demanding kitchen environment
• Must be able to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, and humidity
