A DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and deployment pipelines to support seamless application development and delivery. Key responsibilities include automating build, release, and deployment processes using Azure DevOps tools, managing infrastructure as code (IaC) with tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep, and ensuring system scalability, security, and reliability. They monitor and optimize Azure resources, troubleshoot issues, and implement CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with development and operations teams to streamline workflows, enforce best practices, and enhance system performance while staying updated on Azure advancements.

Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure Pipelines.
• Configure, manage, and optimize Azure resources, including VMs, Storage, Networking, Kubernetes clusters, and other Azure services.
• Set up proactive alerts and integrate tools for monitoring, alerting, and reporting to detect performance issues, security threats, and system failures, ensuring timely response and high application availability.
• Create and manage automated builds, testing, release, and deployment pipelines to streamline the development lifecycle and ensure smooth application deployment to cloud or on-premises servers.
• Monitor cloud-based infrastructure and deployed applications, ensuring optimal performance, cost efficiency, and addressing performance bottlenecks to enhance scalability and response time.
• Adopt and implement security best practices to ensure the secure deployment and management of applications on Azure and SAP Commerce Cloud.
• Work closely with development and QA teams to understand requirements and continuously improve the DevOps process.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to the DevOps pipeline, infrastructure, cloud applications, and system outages, including performance degradation, errors, and integration problems.
• Collaborate with internal infrastructure, network, IDAM and security teams to assist application teams with Azure resource setup and managing Azure Active Directory (AAD) permissions.
• Manage database backups, implement point-in-time recovery strategies, and develop comprehensive disaster recovery plans to ensure data protection and continuity.
• Optimize Azure SQL Database performance, in collaboration with DBA, through effective indexing, query tuning, and DTU/CPU resource optimization to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Configure and manage Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and Kusto Queries to optimize performance monitoring, diagnostics, and data analysis.
• Install and configure SAP Commerce Cloud environments, including cloud and on-premises setups.
• Configure and maintain secure communications using SSL/TLS and manage encryption keys.
• Administer user access and permissions, including configuring role-based access control, and manage user accounts, groups, and roles within the cloud platform, controlling access based on business needs.
• Configure integrations between SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP S/4Hana. Ensure seamless data flow between SAP Commerce Cloud and backend systems.
• Manage and troubleshoot any integration issues related to APIs, middleware, or third-party applications.
• Analyze logs and error messages from the platform to diagnose and fix issues quickly.
• Plan and execute SAP Commerce Cloud system upgrades, applying new releases and patches.
• Write scripts for server configuration, monitoring, and other administrative tasks to increase efficiency.
• Provide ongoing technical support to development and QA teams, including on-call assistance as needed, to address critical incidents, production issues, and support during testing and release phases.
• Stay current with the latest trends in DevOps platforms to effectively implement continuous improvement.

  • Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Azure DevOps engineering.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure, and related services (e.g., Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service).
  • Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) concepts and tools.
  • Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification (AZ-400)
  • Experience in configuring Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and DevOps pipelines is preferable.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong experience with Azure DevOps tools (Pipelines, Boards, Repos, Artifacts).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or other related monitoring systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable using tools such as Git, Sonar, Jenkins, Kibana and Dynatrace.
  • Knowledge of development life cycle best practices including version control, QA, build/release management, CI and regression testing.
  • Knowledge of SAP commerce cloud, Integration with SAP ERP system for real time calls and Asynchronous Order Management connecting with SAP ERP or SAP S/4 HANA is a plus.
  • Good understanding about Hybris Tomcat cluster environment, Apache web server, and CDN like Akami.
  • Overall experience working with e-commerce systems development in a large, corporate environment.
  • Ability to work in a globally distributed environment.
  • Good track-record of executing in a dynamic, team-based environment.
  • Adept at understanding customer challenges, navigating from problem to resolution and communicating process and resolution effectively both verbally and in writing.
