Common App is currently searching for a Temporary People Operations Specialist, Compensation. This is a temporary 3-4 month assignment, and the individual selected for this role will be employed through a staffing agency, not as a direct employee of Common App.
Responsibilities
The Temporary People Operations Specialist, Compensation, will lead the migration of compensation benchmarking data from PayScale’s legacy platform to the new PayFactors system. This role requires advanced technical expertise with PayFactors and strong Excel skills to ensure accurate transfer, validation, and analysis of compensation data for all unique positions. The specialist will work closely with People Operations to streamline the transition, maintain data integrity, and support compensation benchmarking needs during the migration period.

Qualifications
This Role Requires:
- Candidates must live in the United States.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in compensation, including market pricing, benchmarking, and data analysis..
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep expertise with PayFactors, including benchmarking, job matching, reporting, and data management.
- Strong understanding of compensation principles, market pricing, and benchmarking methodologies.
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, data validation, and modeling).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complex data migration projects independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to identify data inconsistencies, troubleshoot, and resolve issues quickly.
- Ability to balance strategic compensation expertise with hands-on technical execution.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, virtual-first environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- Familiarity with PayScale’s legacy system and its data structures.
- A passion for higher education is a plus.
Pay Range
$40-55 Per Hour
