A Day In The Life

Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) team members are seasoned professionals with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare value chain, as well as breadth of experience across multiple disciplines. They are able to partner with hospital management teams to drive complex transformational change, implement innovative growth strategies, streamline patient-focused care pathways and run and optimize operations.

The Supply Chain Director is responsible for IHS’s supply chain operations and capability development across EurAsia region. Reporting to the IHS Senior Director Operations EurArsia, this role will have responsibility for $200M spend and the supply chain of around 300 operating theatres and cath labs across EMEA.

The role will be responsible for customer care, inventory management, and master data across EurAsia. The role will be critical to both the service level within IHS’s materials management service as well as the healthy operations of IHS’s standalone products business. Next to that, this role should make sure our offering is continuously enriched and expanded with state-of-the art Supply Chain innovations in line with supply chain healthcare innovation trends.

The role will be located in the UK & a willingness to travel is required.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

Operational

  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain for service and products business
  • Develop and implement EurAsia-wide supply chain operations plan to support EurAsia-wide IHS services business
  • Ensure optimal availability, inventory levels and wastage across IHS’s managed service accounts, in line with AOP targets and supporting P&L margins.
  • Establish and maintain relevant KPI’s, appropriate scorecards, an effective escalation matrix, and an appropriate cadence of strategic and tactical business reviews in coordination with the broader IHS Senior Leadership team creating transparency, predictability, and accountability.
  • Put in place and maintain strong regulatory and quality controls, in accordance with IHS existing policies and procedures.

Capability

  • Bring supply chain innovations to IHS’s service (e.g., RFID tracking, consumption predictive analytics, AI usage etc.)
  • Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain an efficient SC IT landscape to manage operational and financial processes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Collaborating with marketing and commercial teams, driving a robust supply plan including new market entry strategies. Accountable for the overall effectiveness and efficiency of IHS EMEA supply chain including cost of delivery, volume scale-up, as well as continuous improvements.
  • Identify and deliver analytics to enhance customer service levels and the value which IHS Supply Chain Managed Services brings to its clients.
  • Develop internally, partner, or acquire new supply chain capabilities to ensure continued best-in-class health care supply chain services for IHS customers.

Must Have Experience & Key Capabilities

  • Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate, support and develop virtual geographically spread teams
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing, especially within health care
  • The ability to challenge existing practices while maintaining and enhancing services and standards.
  • Executive leadership, familiar with sales, operational budget planning and review methodologies.
  • Significant knowledge of healthcare industry and of current trends in healthcare purchasing, contracting, supply chain partners and logistics partners
  • Demonstrated ability to operate from idea generation to execution
  • Experience with development, maintenance and usage of supply chain IT systems and reporting tools

Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in operations, science, engineering, or business management
  • Advanced degree in supply chain or manufacturing preferred.
  • Languages: English is a must; other languages are a definite plus.
  • Mimimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7 years of managerial experience or advanced Degree with minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong experience leading a team of Inventory Management System users
  • Strong knowledge of both finance and supply chain management processes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels
  • Customer and business focus and understanding
  • Project management, and leading to results through influence
  • Problem-solving and technical skills

Willingness to travel within EurAsia (around 25%)
