Vice President - Solution Architect

Responsible for leading a team of Solution Architects within the Retail Banking Group, this role ensures that all retail technology solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with both business objectives and the enterprise technology strategy. Operating at the intersection of strategic alignment and execution, this role provides leadership and guidance across the solution design. The role spans agile squads and waterfall-managed systems of record, engaging cross-functional teams across business, product, engineering, and technology to deliver value-driven outcomes that support RBG’s strategic goals.

• Lead and mentor a team of solution architects across multiple domains.•    Define and promote solution architecture principles, standards, and best practices.•    Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to align solution design with strategic roadmaps.•    Solution Design & Governance, overseeing the design of end-to-end solutions that balance business needs, cost, scalability, and risk, ensuring solutions follow enterprise architecture principles•    Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into solution roadmaps•    Guide delivery teams with architectural blueprints, integration patterns, and technology choices.•    Influence and advice on technology-driven opportunities for innovation and efficiency.•    Identify architectural risks and define mitigation strategies.
• Minimum 10+ years in solution architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.•    Proven track record in leading solution architecture for large-scale retail banking initiatives.•    Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term vision and short-term delivery needs.•    Ability to translate business requirements into actionable solution roadmaps.•    Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior-level presentations.•    Proven track record of leading and mentoring solutions architecture teams.•    Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.•    Experience working in hybrid environments with vendor-managed systems and in-house agile squads.•    Deep understanding of retail banking systems, digital platforms, and SOR applications.•    Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and governance models.•    Expertise in SDLC processes across agile and waterfall methodologies.•    Strong expertise in solution architecture, including systems integration, APIs, and event-driven designs.•    Deep knowledge of cloud platforms and SaaS ecosystems.•    Deep knowledge of Enterprise systems and Design principles.•    Strong grounding in data and security architecture•    Experience with DevOps, containerization, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code concepts
