- Support the Distribution Supervisor in providing day to day guidance, work direction to Warehouse Associates ensuring that deliveries are organized and loaded in a safe and efficient manner and that delivery teams are debriefed at the end of their shifts.
- Assist in the collection, entry and communication of data in information such as KPI's, recognition program, etc...
- Understand all aspects of the picking, receiving and home delivery operations and provide assistance as required.
- Liaise and follow-up with operations, sales, customer service and customers on any issues or problems.
- Provide support to the Delivery Teams during daily preps, deliveries, and complete manifest releasing.
- Manage routing system and delivery runs, equipment sign-out.
- Conduct and reconcile distribution issues that impact inventory and ensure they are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Act in a supervisory/team lead capacity in the absence of a Supervisor (i.e.., afternoon/evening shifts, vacation coverage).
- Provide training and orientation for new Associates.
- Works on various project initiatives as required.
- A college diploma in a related field.
- 1-2 years of leadership and/or supervisor experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in warehouse, delivery, and inventory (cycle counts, return to vendor process) is a definite asset.
- Knowledgeable and understanding of provincial transportation and policies is an asset (ex. log books, trip inspections, checking them over making sure they are correct and up to date, etc...)
- Must have strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with various internal/external stakeholders on issues and discrepancies (i.e.., order mix-ups, non-deliveries, manifest errors).
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects or assignments as well as interacting with Management, Associates, customers and vendors
