Your Role:

The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Product Management role offers an opportunity to drive innovation and product development while serving as a crucial bridge between stakeholders, development teams, and product strategy. This role combines technical acumen with strong product management methodologies, requiring exceptional analytical capabilities and outstanding stakeholder management skills.

The core objectives of this role are to support product strategy execution, lead agile development processes, and ensure effective communication between all parties involved in product development. You will play a vital role in translating high-level product vision into actionable development tasks while maintaining strong relationships across global teams.

You will be an Individual Contributor, working closely with Product Managers and development teams to drive product initiatives from conception to delivery. Your role involves breaking down complex requirements into clear user stories, managing product backlogs, and ensuring smooth delivery through agile methodologies. You will create and maintain high-quality documentation and presentations for stakeholders while facilitating effective communication between product, development, and business teams.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams across global locations, lead sprint planning and execution, and ensure product delivery aligns with organizational standards and success metrics. Your technical understanding will be crucial in bridging communication gaps and driving efficient product development cycles.

1. Product Development

  • Translate product strategies into detailed user stories and technical requirements
  • Manage and prioritize product backlogs using Jira and Confluence
  • Lead sprint planning, execution, and retrospectives
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Utilize design tools like Figma or Balsamiq for product mockups
  • Utilize AI tools for efficiency and automation in product development

2. Strategic Planning

  • Support development of comprehensive business cases
  • Conduct gap analysis and current state assessments
  • Contribute to product roadmap development
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define success metrics

3. Project Management

  • Lead agile ceremonies and sprint activities
  • Manage cross-functional team coordination
  • Track and report project progress using Smartsheets or similar
  • Ensure timely delivery of product features
  • Facilitate effective communication between teams

4. Technical Integration

  • Solid understanding of technical requirements
  • Collaborate with development teams on solution design
  • Support testing and quality assurance processes
  • Contribute to technical documentation
  • Familiarity with AI integration concepts

5. Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Facilitate communication between business and technical teams
  • Present regular status updates to leadership
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations
  • Drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Economics or related field
  • Data Analysis or relevant master's degree is a bonus
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or similar role
  • Strong understanding of agile/scrum methodologies
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheets is a plus 
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, and API integrations
  • Experience with design tools (Figma, Balsamiq)
  • Understanding of product development lifecycle
  • Experience in financial services industry preferred
  • Knowledge of fund administration is a plus
  • Exceptional relationship building and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication
  • Proven ability to translate complex requirements into clear deliverables
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving product initiatives
  • Strong presentation and documentation skills

  • Experience with AI and automation tools a plus
