Senior Fullstack Java Developer (AWS, Java, Python) - Contractor

About the Role (your why)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fullstack Java Developer with a strong AWS background and proficiency in Python to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable web applications, leveraging your expertise in Java, AWS cloud services, and Python scripting. This role requires a deep understanding of full-stack development, a passion for building high-quality software, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You'Ll Do:

• Full Stack Development: Design, develop, and implement both front-end and back-end components of web applications using Java and related technologies, with a focus on cloud-native architectures.
• Java Expertise: Demonstrate strong proficiency in Java and related technologies, including Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data), JPA/Hibernate, and related technologies.
• AWS Cloud Proficiency: Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, and other relevant services. Ability to design and implement cloud-native applications.
• Python Skills: Strong scripting skills in Python for automation, data processing, and integration tasks. Experience with relevant Python libraries (e.g., Boto3) for interacting with AWS services.
• Front-End Development: Develop user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js), HTML, CSS, and related technologies. Focus on user experience and responsive design.
• Back-End Development: Develop robust and scalable back-end services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies. Experience with microservices architecture is a plus.
• API Development & Integration: Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services. Experience with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger) is a plus.
• Database Design & Management: Design and manage relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and write efficient SQL queries. Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and application stability. Implement automated testing strategies using frameworks like JUnit and Mockito.
• Deployment & Maintenance: Deploy and maintain applications in AWS cloud environments. Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Code Reviews & Mentoring: Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share best practices with junior developers. Mentor junior team members.
• Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Problem Solving & Debugging: Troubleshoot and debug complex issues related to application performance and functionality.
• Agile Development: Work in an Agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.   

Key Skills:

• Extensive experience with Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data), and JPA/Hibernate.
• Strong AWS cloud experience (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, etc.).
• Proficient in Python scripting and experience with AWS SDKs (e.g., Boto3).
• Strong front-end development skills using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js), HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Proficiency in database design and management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.   
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.   
• Experience mentoring junior developers.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
