Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity to become an integral part of a small but mighty accounting team supporting a thriving healthcare staffing operation. You'll work directly with the Accounting Controller in a role that offers significant growth potential and the chance to make a real impact on daily operations. This position combines traditional accounting responsibilities with the opportunity to learn and grow into more advanced functions, including QuickBooks management and financial process improvement. You'll be supporting critical payroll operations for healthcare professionals while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced, expanding business environment where your professional development is encouraged and your expertise will be highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 60 healthcare professionals with Sunday-to-Saturday pay periods
  • Manage accounts receivable functions and handle invoicing processes
  • Support various administrative tasks that keep the accounting department running smoothly
  • Perform QuickBooks cleanup and maintenance to ensure accurate financial records
  • Serve as backup support for existing payroll processes, ensuring continuity of operations
  • Participate in Sunday evening payroll preparation sessions (1-2 hours) to meet critical Monday morning deadlines
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounting Controller as a trusted team member
  • Take on expanding responsibilities as your skills develop and the company grows
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end closing processes

Requirements
  • Intermediate level accounting experience with demonstrated proficiency
  • Strong QuickBooks skills (QuickBooks certification highly preferred)
  • Proven experience with payroll processing and related compliance requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to take full ownership of assigned tasks
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to integrate seamlessly with remote teams
  • Flexibility to work Eastern Time zone hours and occasional Sunday evening preparation work
  • Self-motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment
  • Experience supporting healthcare or staffing industry operations is a plus
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new processes and grow with an expanding organization
