As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
Job Responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
- Acts as the main point of contact during major incidents for your application and demonstrates the skills to identify and solve issues quickly to avoid financial losses
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Strong hands-on with AWS cloud, including the ability to design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions using services such as S3, ECS, Lambda, and RDS.
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- Strong development background in Java, Spring Boot, RDBMS, RESTful APIs, Kubernetes, Kafka, MongoDB, Elastic Search.
- Should have worked on AWS Cloud services like compute, storage, databases, network, application integration, monitoring & alerting, Identity & Access Management.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring, service level objectives, alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable depth in one or more technical disciplines
- Ability to communicate data-based solutions with complex reporting and visualization methods
- Continues to expand network and leads evaluation sessions with vendors to see how offerings can fit into the firm’s strategy
- Ability to anticipate, identify, and troubleshoot defects found during testing
- Strong communication skills with ability to mentor and educate others on site reliability principles and practices

- AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- Strong client focus & ability to work as a team player.
- Problem solver across domains with high tolerance to ambiguity.
- Interest and enthusiasm in adopting new avenues of solving problems such as AI/ML.
- Ability to articulate and communicate the ideas effectively & concisely.
