Finance trainee (part-time) for a Sustainability SaaS

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive part-time Finance Trainee to join our effective and supportive team in Helsinki.

In this role, you will support our finance operations, focusing on accounts receivables, including communicating with customers to follow up on outstanding payments. In addition, you will assist with employee expense processing, bank reconciliations, and other related administrative finance tasks to help ensure smooth and accurate financial operations.

This part-time, fixed-term position is based in Helsinki. The exact working hours and contract duration can be agreed upon depending on the preferences & availability.

What You Will Do:

• Manage accounts receivables, including initiating collections when required
• Provide clients with support throughout the payment process to ensure smooth and timely transactions
• Allocate payments to corresponding sales invoices and record any exchange rate differences on account statements
• Set up refunds when necessary and ensure they are processed accurately
• Complete supplier forms and questionnaires as needed to support operational and financial workflows
• Assist the team with other related administrative and finance tasks, contributing to the smooth running of day-to-day operations.

What You Need:

• Degree in Finance or Accounting (e.g., still studying or recently graduated)
• Strong attention to detail and a diligent approach to administrative tasks
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear, direct, timely, and relevant manner both internally and externally
• Experience and understanding of billing and accounts receivable processes, including customer follow-ups and payment tracking
• Knowledge of sales processes and their connection to invoicing and revenue cycles
• Fluency in verbal and written English, as it is our working language
