Salary Range: $52,000 - $55,000

Position Summary
The Sr. Facilities Specialist for Inventory and Projects oversees all of the functions of the UHRL storeroom and warehouse operation and serves as an assistant project manager to all of Temple’s residential housing and dining facilities. These facilities are in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and serve a wide audience of stakeholders consisting of students and their families, University administration, and conference groups and guests. The Sr. Facilities Specialist for Inventory and Projects may supervise a small team of student workers that support the inventory efforts of the department and provide work assignments and guidance to three (3) driver/delivery staff. This role manages the ordering, storage, receiving, and distribution processes within UHRL's storeroom and warehouse operations. Key responsibilities include overseeing the flow of supplies and equipment, tracking and analyzing inventory, researching and procuring specialized parts and tools requested by department staff, processing requisitions, invoices, and receipts in TU Marketplace, ensuring accuracy through physical inventory audits, and developing protocols to mitigate inventory loss. The Sr. Facilities Specialist for Inventory and Projects assists in facilitating the completion of capital projects, preventative maintenance, cleaning services, and facility repairs, by managing professional working relationships with contracted vendors, coordinating site visits and building access as needed, monitoring and documenting project completion, providing status updates and assisting with project closeout functions. Additionally, this position participates in the maintenance on-call (MOC) duty rotation, coordinating after-hours issues and providing onsite support as needed during emergencies.

The Sr. Facilities Specialist for Inventory and Projects is responsible for over $500K in standing inventory kept on site in the storeroom and warehouse.  Responsible for a wide variety of purchases of materials for the department’s $2.5M annual operating budget.

The Sr. Facilities Specialist for Inventory & Projects serves as a member of the University Housing and Residential Life (UHRL) Facilities team and reports to the Assistant Director of Projects & Inventory.

Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires the following background checks & clearances: driver’s license check, PA State Police Criminal Background, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Federal FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background

  • Required Education and Experience
  • * Two (2) years of relevant inventory operations and/or project management.
  • * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Preferred Education and Experience
  • * Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • * At least two (2) years of directly related experience in hospitality management or facilities management.
  • * Experience supervising in a union work environment.
  • * Experience working in housing/multi-family facilities maintenance, housekeeping, or inventory management operation.
  • * Understanding of the objectives of higher education, and in particular university student housing programs.
  • Required Skills and Abilities
  • * Demonstrated experience supervising, developing, mentoring, and motivating a diverse team.
  • * Excellent organizational skills, including an ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • * Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including an ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of students, parents, and staff.
  • * Ability to manage multiple collaborative projects and systems in a fast-paced environment.
