Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Social Football Referees to join our team at UniRec. You will officiate games in our popular 6-a-side football leagues, held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during semester. The league begins on 21 October 2025 through to February 2026, with a short break over Christmas.

This is a great opportunity to support recreational sport, gain experience in officiating, and be part of the University’s dynamic student and community environment.

Salary will be paid at an hourly rate of $26.00 based on skills and experience. This is a casual position until February 2026, based at our Hillcrest Campus in Hamilton.

You’ll bring a passion for football and the ability to apply the rules of the game in a fair and confident manner. 

You’Ll Also Need:

• Excellent communication and people skills 
• Enjoy working with students and community members 
• Strong positive attitude

Previous refereeing or coaching experience is an advantage, but training will be provided.
