Full Time

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for planning and maintaining daily Supply Chain operations in one or more functional areas such as materials, production, inventory, logistics, customer service, demand management, or order fulfillment. This role ensures that both internal and external customers’ expectations and requirements are consistently met, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Returnable Packaging MRP, including resolving horizontal plan shortages.
  • Direct 3PL container management centers’ shipments and oversee intake/resolution of supplier- and plant-raised issues.
  • Configure and maintain MRP settings for new suppliers, part numbers, and packaging changes.
  • Ensure asset management controls and inventory accuracy for returnable assets.
  • Publish weekly KPIs for container management centers and monthly KPIs for Cummins sites.
  • Drive QMS improvement plans and lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop and refine planning system strategies to strengthen supply chain signals.
  • Monitor and adjust planning system parameters using standard tools and processes.
  • Analyze and interpret Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify potential supply chain failures, assess risks, and mitigate them proactively.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders—internal and external—to drive tactical and strategic supply chain improvements.
  • Participate in functional process improvement teams and contribute to global supply chain best practices.

Technical Competencies

  • Materials Planning System Utilization – Manages supply/demand plans using the materials planning system as the primary tool, with ad hoc analytical support from Excel/Access/OMS.
  • Part Change Control Management – Implements engineering changes (e.g., obsolescence, supersessions, new part releases) while minimizing excess/obsolete inventory.
  • Plan for Every Part (PFEP) – Applies PFEP principles to ensure the right part is delivered at the right time, quantity, and place across the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Master Supply Scheduling – Develops and maintains a valid Master Production Schedule aligned with procurement, production, and replenishment requirements.
  • Material Planning – Uses advanced tools (e.g., Advanced Planning Command Centre, BI Dashboards) for decision-making on parts availability, inventory optimization, and root cause analysis.
  • Materials KPI Management – Interprets and acts on KPIs to drive supply chain performance, balancing trade-offs across multiple metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (College, University, or equivalent required).
  • Relevant certifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Planning (preferred but not mandatory).

Skills And Experience

  • Minimal to intermediate-level experience in supply chain planning, logistics, or materials management.
  • Hands-on experience with MRP systems and planning tools.
  • Knowledge of asset and container management, supplier collaboration, and inventory controls.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement and QMS practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
