Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Team Coordinator to join Te Ratonga Rapu Mahi - Careers and Employment on a permanent, full-time basis. 

The role will be responsible for supporting the operations of the team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide high quality frontline engagement services to students, staff, and visitors to Te Ratonga Rapu Mahi - Careers and Employment.
  • To provide resource and operations support for the team.
  • To provide administration support across financial, human resources, systems support, reporting, and events.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You Will:

  • Be a proactive, customer-focused individual who gets joy from engaging with students and graduates. 
  • Have the ability to positively influence and support a high performing team, as well as having the confidence to provide effective and timely administration support.  
  • Thrive in this role with a curious mindset, and the willingness to learn and get excited about issues relating to the career development and employability of students and graduates. 
  • Be a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder, who relishes working autonomously as well as contributing to a collaborative team. 
  • Need effective time management and forward planning to balance meeting deadlines and maintain a high standard of service to both students and staff. 

The role is varied, with scope to contribute to a wide portfolio of work within the team. Ideally you have an interest in social media and digital technologies, as well as understanding how to connect with diverse groups across the University. 

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a front-line, customer focused environment, coordinating multiple activities concurrently.
  • Proficient in developing social and digital media content.
  • Understanding of the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

  • Demonstrated ability in an administrative role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and databases, at least intermediate level using Excel.
  • Familiarity with event coordination.
  • Proven experience working in a front-line, customer focused environment, coordinating multiple activities concurrently.
  • Proficient in developing social and digital media content.
  • Understanding of the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
