Licensing Excellence is a team of patent licensing, contract management, and royalty management professionals playing a key role in the execution of Nokia Technologies’ strategy and the licensing of Nokia’s valuable portfolio of technologies globally. The Licensing Excellence team is responsible for driving best practices in the patent licensing operations of Nokia Technologies. The team is responsible for governance of patent licensing operations, contract management, and royalty management.
In this role, you will work with a wide network of stakeholders within Nokia Technologies and other Nokia business groups supporting negotiations of specific intellectual property transactions, primarily patent license and related agreements, as well as helping develop best practices in patent licensing operations in Nokia Technologies. You will help protect the long-term interests of Nokia’s patent licensing business, contribute to strategic decision-making by senior leadership in Nokia Technologies, and engage with other Nokia business groups in relation to the acceptability of intellectual property terms of business transactions in so far as they affect Nokia Technologies.

- Supporting licensing deal teams with the negotiation and drafting of patent license and other agreements,
- Advising leadership on strategic decision-making at a variety of stages in the patent licensing process
- Providing expert legal advice on the acceptability of intellectual property terms of business transactions of other Nokia business groups, in so far as they affect Nokia Technologies
- 10+ years of professional legal hands-on experience in global intellectual property transactions including patent licensing.
- Excellent legal knowledge in the areas of intellectual property law and patent licensing, preferably including knowledge of the interplay between technology standards and intellectual property, F/RAND licensing, and patent litigation.
- Effective communications skills including internal and external communication and senior leadership engagement.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of resolving complex legal questions and executing on strategy.
- Ability to navigate and organize work across different cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Master’s degree in law.
- Interest in developing best practices, business processes, and digital solutions for supporting legal and licensing functions would be an asset.
