Wood is recruiting for an SMP Turnaround Lead (Offshore WA) to join our Operations APAC (West) team on a major LNG turnaround. Point of hire is Perth, Western Australia and available on a 12-month contract. Immediate start (preferred).
This opportunity is initially onshore for turnaround readiness and will move to an even time 2:2 FIFO roster for Pre Turnaround through to Post Turnaround, working 7 days a week, 12-hour day shifts or possible night shifts.

Reporting directly to the Construction & Commissioning Manager, you will step up into an instrumental position ensuring the seamless execution and successful delivery of a major offshore FLNG turnaround. You will be responsible for coordinating complex shutdown activities and play a pivotal role in orchestrating various elements involved from planning, resource allocation to onsite coordination and post turnaround.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Responsible for management and execution of multiple field disciplines from turnaround readiness through to post turnaround
- Coordinate field personnel work schedules to maximise utilisation and ensure work is delivered safely on schedule and within budget, capturing change were necessary
- Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified
- Acting focal point on site during the critical phases of the turnaround
- Ensuring all workers in their areas of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal and competent manner including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions
- Initiate safety, quality, and environmental processes within their areas of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections and the identification, assessment and control risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements

Expected:
You will be able to work lawfully in Australia and must hold full working rights for this location.
Ideally, you will have 10+ years of experience working in a similar SMP coordination or supervision role, with proven experience in offshore oil & gas / energy projects. Familiarity with large and small-scale piping installations is essential.
In addition, you will have proven experience across:
- Safety: Deep commitment to HSE principles, with experience in risk management and safety compliance
- Technical: Excellent knowledge of structural, mechanical, and piping systems, including installation, maintenance, and inspection processes. Familiarity with large and small-scale piping installations is essential
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive performance in high-pressure offshore environments
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders
Qualifications & Tickets:
- Mechanical Trade Cert (Cert III/Cert IV) or Engineering degree (Structural, Mechanical, or Piping) from a recognised institution
- BOSIET/T-BOSIET or FOET/T-FOET + CA-EBS – valid within 4 years
- MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card)
- Work Safely at Heights – valid within 2 years
- Flange Management Level 1 -3 – valid within 3 years
- Escape Chute – valid within 4 years (desirable)
