Microsoft Teams is core to Microsoft's vision for intelligent communications. We are THE hub for teamwork in Office 365 with hundreds of thousands of organizations and tens of millions of users across the globe using Teams. We are looking for a Software Engineer II to lead our efforts in the Teams Rooms on Android team, that tackles challenges in the collaboration and hybrid workplace space with a customer- centric focus, working in close collaboration with multiple partner teams on technologies across the company and beyond. We are looking for someone who is interested in real time communication, cutting edge Android technologies, and leveraging AI technology to build customer experiences.
This role requires you to be onsite 3 days a week in Microsoft's offices in Redmond, WA.

Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, robust code to production with a test-driven development approach.
- Be customer obsessed. Understanding and anticipating the needs of our customers in a changing business and technology landscape is critical.
- Ramp up quickly on new technologies and adopt solution from within the company or from the Open Source community.
- Work in the code, support partner services, and drive deliverable across many partner teams.
- Embody our culture and values.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of Android development experience, including but not limited to hands-on proficiency with Java, Kotlin, and various open-source Android libraries and frameworks.
- 1+ years of hands on experience leveraging AI coding tools like Github Copilot.
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- 1+ years understanding of Android Open Source Project (AOSP) internals as well as android frameworks like Jetpack Compose.
- Experience working in Kotlin ecosystem and deep understanding of Kotlin Coroutines.
- Knowledge of end to end software development life cycle including unit testing, UI testing.
