The Minecraft team is looking for a program manager to lead and drive the timely delivery of the next generation game technology and foundations. 

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager who has worked on large online services projects.  You love bringing definition to complex technology projects and are an expert at navigating ambiguous spaces.  Your technical expertise and attention to detail enables you to identify risks, drive development with predictability, and challenge how we work to continuously improve.  Relationships and teamwork are important to how you inspire and lead the teams to deliver their best work.  You are a team player that does what it takes with no ego.  You also have an intolerance for mediocrity and are unafraid to take a stand on what you believe is right.

Responsibilities

• Drive definition and alignment of technology initiatives and projects with key stakeholders and teams. Author functional specs and documentation.  
• Create schedules and milestones for technology initiatives and projects; Ensure teams understand goals and manage delivery through all phases of development. 
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization to ensure timely delivery. 
• Identify risks in advance and drive the team towards successful resolution before the risks turn into fires.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
• OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
• OR equivalent experience.
• Experience translating strategic goals into actionable feature plans and manage cross-functional schedules across all development phases from concept to delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience as a program manager, producer or related experience.  Proven track record of successfully managing technical initiatives. 
• Technical acumen and expertise with an understanding of designing, building, delivering, and maintaining applications and services for availability, resiliency, and performance in a dynamic environment.  
• Passion for games and understanding of how games positively affect and influence people’s lives and the ability to understand what resonates with players and creators
• Embrace ambiguity and act.  
• Possess communication skills, both written and verbal with a focus on conflict resolution. 
• Comfortable presenting and demonstrating products for large and small audiences.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and results driven. 

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
