Are you an experienced workplace investigator who cares deeply about fairness, integrity, and making a real difference? If that sounds like you, we’d love you to join our Employee Relations team within People Services at Lancashire County Council.

As a People Services Investigations Officer, you’ll play a key role in helping us build a positive, inclusive workplace culture. You’ll be at the heart of some of our most important employee relations work, leading investigations and supporting managers to get things right.

What You’Ll Be Doing:

  • Taking the lead on complex investigations – from disciplinary and grievance cases to bullying and harassment concerns.
  • Writing clear, impartial reports that inform fair and consistent decisions.
  • Helping us improve how we manage cases by shaping systems and reporting tools.
  • Offering expert advice to managers on best practice and investigation processes.
  • Presenting your findings at formal hearings and contributing to training and development.

What We’Re Looking For:

  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards it), or equivalent experience in employee relations.
  • A strong track record of handling workplace investigations with professionalism and care.
  • Sound knowledge of employment law, ACAS guidance, and what good employee relations looks like.
  • Great communication skills – you’ll be confident, empathetic, and able to influence and coach stakeholders of all levels.
  • A keen eye for detail, with a drive to help us keep improving.
