Description

It is the responsibility of the Equipment Operator I to operate various saw equipment and/or ultrasonic welding to prepare material to proper sizes and quantities in accordance with work orders, bills of material, manufacturing specifications and Engineering drawings. 

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret production work instructions, production orders, Bill of Material/Operations, and quality plans.
  • Set up and operate the ultrasonic welder and saws in accordance with work instructions/work orders. 
  • Verify seam type requirements based on work orders and cuts using handheld rotary shears if necessary.
  • Use and maintain automatic band saws for optimum performance.
  • Work in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
  • Pick material from storage rack or shuttle locations.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions including safety rules and uses all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Accept cross training and job re-assignments as directed.
  • Use fixed and variable measurable equipment.
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization through 5S including following housekeeping rules and directions
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.

Safety And Personal Protective Equipment:

Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Experience in fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Prior saw or machine operation experience is preferred.
  • ERP experience is preferred; SAP experience is a plus.

Skills And Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Computer experience including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is a plus.

Certificates And Licenses:

  • Capability to obtain forklift certification to drive a forklift, including RAYMOND upright trucks and Wave machines.

Other Requirements:

  • Maintains confidentiality when working with company proprietary information.
  • Ability to identify and resolve practice problems in a timely manner.
