Security Protection Officer

As a Security Protection Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, maintaining high standards of security and protection. Our team of Security Patrollers roams all the land-side areas of Heathrow, and jumps into action airside whenever needed.

This role is all about connecting with people – you’ll be interacting with passengers, internal teams, third parties, law enforcement, government agencies, and other airport operators. It’s a dynamic job that keeps you on your toes and makes every day different!

This is a site-based role operating on a rotating shift pattern, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic Heathrow environment. This role is based across all terminals and flexibility is required.

• Patrolling our terminals and surrounding areas to ensure buildings are secure and potential risks identified and minimised
• Providing reassurance to our passengers and colleagues by being a visible Security presence
• Ensuring early detection following Heathrow’s behavioural detection protocols
• Developing good working relationships with Team Heathrow, Law Enforcement, and other stakeholders across our Terminals
• Liaising with health and safety escalations including Medic calls, Police, HTC, and fire evacuations and critical incidents
• Ability to quickly build rapport with others and connect with the wide variety of people who make up our airport community
• Excellent observational skills, with an eye for detail and a curiosity to examine situations and issues to a successful resolution, knowing instinctively when to escalate further or not
• Patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Passion for service and support
