Description
The IV Clinical Coordinatoris responsible for Manages the nursing department to delineate and delegate authority, functional responsibility, lines of relationship, and communication to provide safe and therapeutically effective service.
Essential Functions And Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in developing standards which ensure safe and therapeutically effective service to patients and families. Has joint responsibility with the Director of Nursing for seeing that standards are met.
- Participates in developing objectives for home infusion services. Is responsible for seeing that objectives are implemented.
- Consults with the Director of Nursing to determine a staffing pattern which will accomplish stated objectives and promote maximum level of utilization of healthpersonnel.
- Counsels with the patient and family/significant others on nursing, teaching and related needs.•Supports leadership withrecruiting, hiring, evaluating, and terminating personnel.
- Participates in planning for the orientation of new employees. Conducts selected orientation classes.
- Plans and arranges for consultation needs of staff; prepares and maintains current policies and procedures which meet accreditation, Medicare, Medicaid, State, etc. laws and implements such; revises concurrently.
- Displays a willingness to support the policies and procedures and uses appropriate channels for change of such policies; establishes criteria and procedures for selection, promotion, and termination of employment of service personnel.
- Participates in establishing the functions and qualifications for each service position; coordinates interdisciplinary team services:
- Assures ongoing assessment of patient/family needs and implementation of interdisciplinary team plan of care.
- Assures physician approval of plans for continuity of medical care.
- Provides individual or group support concerning job related stress or issues.
- Organizes the nursing service department to delineate and delegate authority, functional responsibility, lines of relationship, and communication to provide safe and therapeutically effective service.
- Participates in coordinating company's services with services of other community agencies.
- Participates in studies and research and other administrative functions as assigned.
- Serves as a role model forall colleagues by setting an example of high standards in dress, conduct, cooperation, and job performance.
- Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient related information. Accepts responsibility for regular attendance and punctuality fulfills job requirements without regard to time involved.
- Serves as a resource person to employees.
- Develops a cooperative relationship and communicates effectively and professionally with physicians.
- Investigates and reports any problem relating to patient care or conditions which might harm the patent and/or employee.
- Immediately reports any accident, incident, lost articles, or unusual occurrence to the Administrator.
- Attends pertinent continuing education programs other than routine in-services and shares information with staff.
- Works with Director of Nursingin identifying budgetary requirements and determining appropriate use of allocations.
- Monitors equipment for appropriate use and take steps to keep misuse to a minimum.
- Oversees company's ongoing Performance Improvement Program.
- Responsible for overseeing development of clinical indicators with appropriate data collection, aggregation, analysis, and reporting results according to company's PI plan.
- Assure 24 hour/day, seven days/week administrativeon-call coverage for the branch.
- Ensures that patient's plans of care are developed, implemented, and evaluated.
- Reviews patient clinical records for compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and company policies and guidelines.
- Conducts monthly patient case conferences, in-services, staff meetings, and maintains documentation; participates in community education projects.
- Ensures that all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
- Must be able to perform nursing functions in times of staff shortages.
- Oversee the PPD testing program for the company for new hires.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and company policies in all patient care aspects.
- Oversees staffing and visit assignments.
- Participates in establishing the functions and qualifications of all service personnel.
- Is responsible for instituting, interpreting, and documenting disciplinary action.
- Addresses and corrects all patient concerns.
- Participates in program planning, establishing policies and practices relating to nursing service
- Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.
- Complete assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
- Maintain compliant with AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Competency, Skills And Abilities:
- Administer infusion nursing care; instruct, motivate, and assists patients in managing their health status
- Strong ability to administer PIVs, Ports, and PICCs.
- Knowledge and ability and the necessary skill and judgement to perform all procedures as outlined
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements at the state, federal and local level
- Solid ability to learn new technologies and possess the technical aptitude required to understand flow of data through systems as well as system interaction
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a rapidly changing environment, be patient, accountable, proactive, take initiative and work effectively on a team
- Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Education And Experience Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred
- Two (2) years of home infusion experience.
- Must have a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
- Must have a valid and unrestricted RN license from the state in which he/she would be practicing.
- Certified Registered Nurse Intravenous (CRNI) preferred
- Current CPR certification
Physical Demands And Work Environment:
- Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, stand, and sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform one-man CPR.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands and/or fingers due to extensive computer use.
- Work environment may be stressful at times, as overall office activities and work levels fluctuate.
- Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold, direct, or indirect contact with airborne, bloodborne, and/or other potentially infectious pathogen
