Retrieve daily requirements from customers through the Electronic Data Interface (E.D.I.) and update vendor requirements and shipments.
Be able to go into customer portals to enter shipping information.
Obtains critical materials, components, equipment and service through approved suppliers.
Assist in the release and expediting of raw materials to vendors.
Perform or oversee receipts of assigned materials into material usage system.
Prepare weekly and monthly forecast based on customer requirements.
Assist Materials Manager, as required.
Participate in GEMBA if Materials Manager is not available.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May supervise material handlers per direction of Materials Manager. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet and inventory software as well as intermediate Excel experience. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. HEALTH AND SAFETY: Must actively support our Health Safety and Environmental policy, immediately report all Safety hazards and correct them when able to safely do so, participate in all required Safety Training, meetings, inspects, and use all required PPE.Materials Planner
