Community Psychiatric RN (ACT Team)

Description

Job Duties

• Manage and coordinate new admissions, including initial medical needs such as urgent medications, medical care, and dental requirements 
• Manage weekly medication refills and deliveries for 100 psychiatric patients living in the community
• Accompany and advocate clients to medical and dental appointments with other community providers
• Provide basic first aid and wound care as needed; effectively triage acute medical and psychiatric situations
• Administer IM injections
• Communicate with Odyssey House clinics, hospitals, medical practices, and pharmacies to coordinate client medical care for medications, records, and referrals 
• Act as an effective liaison between behavioral health programs and medical clinics and specialists, communicating medical and behavioral plans to teams 
• Oversee purchasing, inventory, storage, and distribution of medical supplies in ACT Team office
• Document all client interactions
• Document all incidents and report as required 
• Audit controlled substances daily 
• Conduct quarterly walk-throughs of relevant accreditation standards in ACT Team medical offices 
• Participate in daily multi-disciplinary team meetings
• Participate in on-call rotation 
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

• Current licensure as RN
• Eligible to work in the USA
• Willingness to learn and care about people
• Ability to receive a flu shot, TB test, and other vaccinations (spiritual and medical waivers available)
• First Aid and CPR Certification (can be obtained through Odyssey House)
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods
• Ability to perform light to moderate physical activity
• Active Utah Driver’s License

Preferred:

• Experience in a psychiatric setting
• Proficiency communicating in Spanish
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and accreditation processes

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods
• Ability to drive or provide adequate alternate transportation
• Ability to perform light to moderate physical activity
