Position Overview
The position is responsible for providing primary care services and participating in an interprofessional team focused on delivering services within a primary care ambulatory care setting. The position requires the clinical assessment/evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients in accordance with the standard of care.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree and five (5) years related experience, must have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program, or an accredited Graduate Nursing Program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to obtain a Texas Physician Assistant License, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License, Nurse Practitioner. Ability to practice medicine within the scope of license, training and credentials. Ability to care for a diverse patient population.
Preferred Qualifications
Competency in primary care delivery and team based care models
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program or Graduate Nursing Program
Job Duties
- Primary medical care to patients with various medical continuations; examine, diagnose, prevention, develop and review treatment plans, ongoing care, order and review laboratory tests as needed to treat medical patients of all ages.
- Actively participate in a multidisciplinary team of individuals in primary care delivery.
- Collaborate with medical supervisor/physician of the healthcare team(s) and other members of the team such as; advance practice professionals and other clinical providers (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Pharmacist, social worker, specialist etc.
- Document care provided within an electronic health record in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
- Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
- Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
