As an assistant director of admission, you will travel extensively to strategically targeted areas, representing SCAD to prospective students at school-specific initiatives, information sessions, college fairs, conferences, and other recruitment events. At these events, you will represent SCAD with the utmost professionalism and deliver compelling classroom presentations through storytelling techniques. You will hold scheduled one-on-one appointments with prospective students to provide information on the application process and portfolio counseling and meet with students visiting the Savannah location. Additionally, you will build ongoing professional and institutional relationships in your assigned area. 

In this role, you will follow up with prospective students through various methods to discuss their interests and answer any questions they may have about university opportunities, ensuring they are the right fit for SCAD. Follow-up may be done via LivePerson, online chat sessions, and other channels. Responsibilities include the review of applicant files for accuracy, personalized admission counseling for prospective students, and correct record management. You will also document tracking and communications with applicants and stay informed about all college policies and procedures to communicate accurate information about the university effectively.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills to connect with diverse audiences. They can effectively prioritize tasks while working independently. Additionally, they are passionate about the arts and eager to promote SCAD. The candidate is willing to travel for 20 weeks in the fall and 12–15 weeks in the spring. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree  
  • Proficiency in computer databases and office productivity software 
  • Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in college admission, student recruitment, or a related field  
  • Experience with Banner and Salesforce 

Certificates, Licenses, And Registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Valid passport  

Travel Required:

  • More than 50%  

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
