JOB SUMMARY:

The Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) is currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated compliance professional for the position of Compliance Specialist located in Phoenix, Arizona. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, this position will work with minimal guidance to support various compliance initiatives to include audits and assessments, compliance training for staff, HIPPA compliance, and working across the agency to assist staff in understanding and meeting compliance standards.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • Supports Compliance Office activities including filling of 13 F’s, HIPPA Training Audit Log, and policy and procedure review.
  • Assists in the preparation and delivery of training programs to educate employees on ethical standards, policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to support a culture of integrity and ethical behavior.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance issues and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to ethics and compliance activities.
  • Manage and track compliance related tasks and projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Stay current with relevant laws and statutes to ensure compliance efforts are up to date.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge Of:

  • HIPPA privacy regulations and compliance standards.
  • Applicable laws, including Arizona Revised Statutes, rules and regulations governing PSPRS operations.
  • Compliance best practices and professional standards, specifically as related to investment operations.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with PSPRS staff at all levels.

  • Work independently with general guidance from the Chief Compliance Officer.

  • Analyze information and communicate findings in a professional and relationship building manner.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and/or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation to include credit and criminal history.

Positions in this classification are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Please note that enrollment eligibility becomes effective after 27 weeks of employment.
