  • Full-Time – 35 hours per week
  • Location: Parramatta (hybrid working supported)
  • Clerk Grade 9/10 - salary relative to experience, from $129,464 - $142,665 + super

The Energy Security and Emergency Management Branch protects and strengthens the reliability, security, and resilience of NSW’s energy systems through strategic planning, real-time emergency coordination, and long-term preparedness.

We are seeking to appoint an ongoing senior project officer for our Planning and Capability team which, in close partnership with the energy emergency management team, leads emergency management planning and preparedness, operational capability and continuous improvement, ensuring the branch is ready to respond to incidents spanning electricity, gas, liquid fuels, water and waste water.

The senior project officer will manage the development and implementation of key projects, including the Energy Emergency Management:

  • Operations Framework
  • Lessons learned framework
  • Preparedness Plan

About You

Are you passionate about supporting emergency preparedness across NSW? We’re looking for a strategic thinker with project management capability, excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and a keen interest in developing and applying frameworks that influence decision-making and long-term resilience. Knowledge of energy systems and/or NSW emergency management arrangements is desirable..

In this dynamic role, you’ll work across government agencies, energy providers, and emergency services to manage and deliver key planning and preparedness initiatives that enhance emergency management planning, support risk mitigation, and improve recovery outcomes. Your ability to engage stakeholders, synthesise information, and produce high-quality documentation will be essential to driving successful outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a relevant discipline.
