Job Description

Redefining computing relies on us creating hardware and software that seamlessly combine virtual reality and the real world. To create this illusion, we are designing and developing completely new ways of using cameras, complex imaging pipelines, and computer vision algorithms.

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager for our next generation mixed reality headset development. You will be leading the product execution effort of our future mixed reality headset and accessories. As the program manager, you have a critical role in leading a large and complex product program execution. Your days will be filled with topics ranging from working with peer engineers to design and select the right solutions to working with our suppliers on quality and schedule choices or planning how we validate and prove our products are of the right quality.

As an individual you have a strong technical background in product making and over the years have proven your skills in leading complex and large projects. You have ability to lead and facilitate decision-making by synthesizing factual data and expert input, comfortable prioritizing action and maintaining program velocity without requiring personal mastery of all technical details. You bring energy to execution with your hands-on approach and deeply care about not only product quality but also ways of working across the company.

This is a highly technical space, and you will be working with the greatest talent on the industry. You do not need to have a background in VR/XR, but you have to show an interest and aptitude for bridging the gap between customers and industry leading solutions. You can get into the detail of topics, but also to provide clear written and oral synthesis. Experience building hardware and software products and/or products that require researching and inventing new technology is preferred.

This full-time position is based in Helsinki, Finland. To effectively perform in this role, we expect that you will need to visit our Helsinki office on at least a few times per week. If you’re based somewhere else at the moment, we will gladly help with relocating to Finland.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the execution of a large and complex product programs
  • Leading and co-operating with HW and SW teams to meet program milestones
  • Establish the right working methods and project thinking that enables us to succeed both on the level of the whole project but also daily and weekly when work happens
  • Take accountability that we make good sound decisions at the right time.
  • Bring to the table technical depth in one or more relevant area of product making. This can be electronics, mechanics, optics, or production technologies

Our Expectations

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of working in program management role
  • Experience of working with physical and software products in a lead role accountable for delivery and execution
  • Experience of modern working methodologies in HW and SW development and quality assurance
  • Technical experience in at least one areas of interest: electronics, mechanics, optics, production systems or similar.
  • Track record of getting things done and shipped to customers
  • Experience of working with contract manufacturing
  • Professionally fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to travel when needed
  • Bonus: experience of working with contract manufacturing with products that include cameras.
