About This Role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a senior leader to lead the design, development, and optimization of portfolio management and trading platforms, with a strong focus on credit and macro products. This role demands deep technical and financial expertise, particularly in derivatives, mortgage valuations, and grid compute environments. The ideal candidate will also contribute to financial forecasting and interest rate risk management strategies, ensuring robust and scalable solutions that align with enterprise investment goals.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
  • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
  • Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
  • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
  • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

Portfolio Management & Trading Systems:

  • Architect and implement scalable portfolio management and trading platforms.
  • Integrate real-time market data feeds and execution workflows.
  • Collaborate with traders, quants, and risk teams to enhance system capabilities.

Credit & Macro Product Expertise:

  • Design and support systems for trading and risk analytics of credit instruments including corporate bonds, CDS, and structured credit.
  • Enable macro product strategies involving FX, rates, and commodities.

Derivatives & Mortgage Valuation

  • Build valuation models for derivatives (swaps, options, futures) and mortgage-backed securities.
  • Ensure compliance with valuation policies and regulatory standards.

Grid Compute Environment

  • Deploy and manage grid computing frameworks for high-volume simulations and pricing engines.
  • Optimize compute resource allocation for latency-sensitive operations.

Financial Forecasting & Interest Rate Risk

  • Support financial forecasting models for balance sheet and capital planning.
  • Implement tools for interest rate risk measurement (DV01, duration, convexity).
  • Collaborate with treasury and finance teams on hedging strategies.
