Job Description:

We are looking for an application engineer with a background in electronics engineering and preferably signal processing and control theory with an interest in audio / class-D applications.

It is the job of the application team to design audio applications/implementations with the controller and power ICs made at MPS Axign, to support customers.

We are looking for an application engineer who can devise and implement solutions for problems that our customer (may) face. Examples include: shrinking PCB area, reducing total cost of the solution, improving audio performance or lowering losses (increasing efficiency). Tasks include control loop design, Matlab/Simulink simulations, design of DSP code/algorithms, design of new software functions for the class-D amplifier, implementation of new power stages (integrated or discrete H-bridges). Secondary tasks include: PCB design to support implementation of new ideas/applications, designing measurement setups to prove/validate new applications/algorithms.

To be part of this team, you should have good insight in analog/power electronics and to have affinity for signal processing, control loop design and measurements. You will be working with colleagues on new applications and are expected to be able to communicate clearly and professionally both internally and externally. After a learning period, you should be able to come up with new ideas to tackle problems that customers face and work in the team on ideas/algorithms to make them ready for implementation by our customers.

Tasks And Responsibilities

• Implementation and testing of new application ideas
• Simulations of new applications / modelling of relevant parameters
• Validating designs with measurements
• Optimalization of amplifier designs on e.g. idle noise/THD/efficiency/stability
• Designing measurement setups to validate new ideas
• PCB design to support implementation of new ideas

Technical Skills

• Good knowledge of Matlab/Simulink
• Knowledge of analog circuit design and simulations
• Good knowledge of digital filters and signal processing
• Knowledge of control theory
• Practical skills like knowing how to do measurements are nice to have
• PCB design experience (Altium) is a nice to have

Requirements

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering
• Fluent in Enlgish
• Good written and verbal communication skills
