ASRT, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of ASRT, Inc. and will be assigned to the Office of Strategy and Innovation (OSI), within The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) at the CDC, located at 4770 Buford Hwy NE, Chamblee Campus Atlanta, GA 30341, to provide support and assistance in innovative strategies and program management.

Scope Of Work

The vision of the Office of Strategy and Innovation (OSI), within The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) is to work seamlessly with partners to explore and launch new ideas that will lead us to a world free from injury and violence. OSI's mission is to drive innovation and build comprehensive strategies to reduce violence and injury. OSI leads scientific and programmatic expertise in OSI content areas in order to foster alignment of activities with NCIPC Divisions and Offices and advance the Center's strategic priorities internally and with external partners. OSI leads innovative and intersectional research through collaboration and advancing the use of cutting-edge methodologies. OSI leads strategic planning efforts in NCIPC by advancing structured strategic planning and providing strategic planning consultation services.

The Public Health Analyst will execute OSI's goals of leading scientific, programmatic, and strategic planning expertise and alignment. Such support will help OSI drive innovation and build comprehensive strategies to reduce violence and injury.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • Understand Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) prevention and its connection to other injury topic areas including substance use and suicides as well as gain knowledge on diversity, equity, belonging, inclusion and accessibility.
  • Triage external/internal requests to review content related to the identification, prevention, and response to ACEs, as well as train on collaborating with scientists and subject matter experts (SME) to identify points of contacts for ACEs requests, review ACEs content and provide edits, and how to access the ACEs inbox for content, policy and technical assistance.
  • Use CDC systems such as SharePoint, CDAP, STARS, etc to improve office efficiencies.
  • Participates in the overall strategic goal setting for NCIPC and provides leadership in the development of plans to achieve these goals and objectives.
  • Participates with Divisions and Offices in NCIPC to establish research priorities for the Center.
  • Develops policies and procedures for review, evaluation, and oversight of OSIs projects.
  • Critically assesses gaps in programmatic strategy and participates in various workgroups across the Center.
  • Provides technical direction, advice and guidance to team members and supports a teamwork environment.
  • Prepares technical reports, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Performs other job-duties as required
  •  Ability to travel up to twice a year  

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education And Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Public Health
  • At least 1 year of experience of public health work

Required:

  • High level of organization
  • Ability to anticipate needs and identify work to be done independently
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods and the techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate and provide expert advice and consultation
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations, explain and justify recommendations, represent the assigned program or project areas and provide guidance to program administrators and provide technical assistance and training to project or program staff
  • Full performance of this task requires the contractor's representative be available during CDC operational hours, consistent scheduled hours of support, and timely and accurate processing of materials throughout the workday
  • The contractor and/or their onsite representative will be required to sign and submit a non-disclosure agreement for activities related to his/her involvement with NCIPC research activities
  • Travel may be required for this task. The vendor will be responsible to provide travel arrangements for their employee. Travel reimbursement shall be consistent with Federal Travel Regulations
  • There will be no more than three complaints per month about timeliness, availability, quality and comprehensiveness of response, or other key factors in providing successful senior-level extramural research program support

Desirable:

  • Prior experience at CDC in a similar capacity strongly preferred
  • Background in public health programs
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or similar systems

Language Skills:

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Requirement:

  • Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident or have authorization for employment in the United States
  • Must be able to qualify for a public trust security clearance
