Internship Description
Events Department internships are designed to expose students to the multi-faceted and high energy field of Event Sales, Planning, Coordination and Execution while providing students with opportunities to apply skills in a real-world environment.
Responsibilities
- Active learning in proactive sales, planning, coordination, and scheduling of a wide variety of events including annual events, corporate events, weddings, fundraisers, networking events, and special interest group meetings.
- Assisting in the creation of proposals to tailor events specifically to Clients’ needs and accurately represent financial obligation of client.
- Web based marketing and media – assist with creating, editing, and publishing content to the website, as well as other web-based multimedia marketing tools.
- Collaborating with a team to become familiar with preparing logistic documents for vendors and staff.
- Day of event execution as needed; set-up, tear-down, and general coordination of overall event.
- The supervisor approves all other duties.
- Currently enrolled in Hospitality and Event Management or related degree program, or recent graduate.
- This position will be scheduled approximately 20 hours per week for 12 weeks.
- Organized, yet flexible; able to work varied hours including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to manage varied duties professionally and work well with staff and vendors.
- Strong analytical skills; fluent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; CAD software a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Demonstrated success with multi-tasking & juggling multiple priorities.
- Self-starter who takes initiative and is highly dependable, polished, and professional when dealing with members, prospective members, sponsors, and executive management.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- May occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Hours/Time Commitment
Minimum 15 hours/week for 12 weeks. (January19, 2026 – May 1, 2026).
