Job Overview
While maintaining the strategic goals set forth by the Implementation & Training Department, the Implementation Specialist III will be the primary point of contact for new billing clients, guiding them through the setup and implementation of the WoundExpert billing software. The Billing Implementation specialist will ensure their system is configured for efficient and accurate billing and educate clients on best practices to optimize their revenue cycle.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Collaborate with clients to configure and customize the WoundExpert billing software to meet their specific needs, ensuring successful billing and claims submissions.
- Provide comprehensive training and education to clients on billing processes, coding, and best practices within the software.
- Guide clients through the initial setup and data migration to ensure a smooth transition.
- Act as a subject matter expert on wound care billing, coding, and compliance regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve implementation-related issues, working with our technical support team as needed.
- Assist clients with insurance and Medicare credentialing processes to ensure they can submit claims successfully.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the implementation process, managing timelines and expectations.
- Work with client and/or PM to ensure configuration of database is completed prior to end-user training.
- Post go-live, assist with application and workflow questions, prior to transition to support.
- Provide billing go-live support to clients.
- Provide education and training to the facility admin team members to support their own team on an ongoing basis and ongoing product maintenance.
- Maintain education and on-going learning relative to new releases/versions of the product.
- Contribute and assist with development of client education and departmental training materials.
- Organize own travel, including booking tickets, securing hotel and rental car accommodations.
- Submit accurate expense reports in a timely manner utilizing the Travel and Entertainment policy, including adhering to the corporate credit card standards.
- Submission of all other client reports within two weeks of go-live.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
- 6+ years of relevant work experience, including 2+ years of software implementation experience and billing experience in Wound Care.
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding, with a strong emphasis on wound care.
- In-depth knowledge of Medicare and commercial insurance credentialing processes preferred.
- Experience with software implementation, particularly in a healthcare or medical billing context.
- Claims Lifecycle Management: Deep knowledge of the entire billing process, including claim creation, submission, tracking, reconciliation, and payment posting.
- Denial Management & Resolution: Proven ability to identify common denial reasons, implement effective resolution workflows, and minimize future denial rates.
- Compliance & Audit Readiness: Understanding documentation standards, healthcare compliance (e.g., HIPAA), and preparation for internal and external audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate clients effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Understanding of adult learning with the ability to stimulate learner participation and motivation.
- Strong project management capabilities with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Ability to travel up to 25% for client engagements, team meetings, and industry events.
- Comfortable working independently while coordinating with distributed teams.
Required Software Experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with EMR platforms.
- Experience using CRM or professional services automation tools for clinical data reporting, benchmarking, and documenting.

Salary Range: $73,440.00 - $91,800.00 USD
