Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all supply chain activities within the plant. Customer Service, Planning, Purchasing, Shipping and Subcontracting with strong focus on improving service to the customer, The scope of the role includes leading the overall strategy for demand planning, material planning, capacity planning, scheduling, and inventory management. Additionally, they will manage the implementation of all new solutions within our supply chain processes. This is a pivotal role that will ensure our site can produce efficiently and meet customer demands cost-effectively.

Key metrics for success in this position include flexibility, reliability, inventory turns, and achieving savings through supply chain initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Champion Safety

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize supply chain processes, technology, and service delivery, ensuring customer reliability and flexibility.
  • Assist in instituting and promoting cost reduction projects.
  • Coordinate with other departments to determine materials needed and schedules to be met.
  • Develop Demand Planning collecting info for production planning team including trend analysis and variances.
  • Organize and define clear process for Capacity planning of all the assets in Toronto based on the demand planning output.
  • Define processes to minimize the high demand during the peak season (Prebuild, Outsourcing, Intercompany support, etc).
  • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning process, fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Accountable for providing inputs to the Annual Operation Plan process for matching customers and market expectations.

Organization & Leadership

Operations

  • Oversee and lead all Supply Chain, Materials, and Logistics operations, directing the team, managing strategic plans, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.
  • Collaborate to ensure fiscal responsibility by managing the departmental budget and resources to meet project goals and drive efficient, high-value outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations.

Strategic Transformation and Long-term strategy development

  • Lead the development of business plans and initiatives that guide the team's long-term direction and foster innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years Supply Chain Management or related experience, with 3+ year’s supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Project Lead Experience.

  • Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies (e.g. ELS, continuous flow etc.) and the ability to integrate those into the operation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead, influence, and drive strategic execution within a team.
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Google Suite, Oracle, and ability to learn other function specific software.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $101,000- $110,000/year.

The hiring  base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
