Team Leader - Civil and Structural

The Opportunity

As Team Leader (Civil & Structural) you will lead a team of Civil/Structural Engineers and Drafters to manage and complete designs associated with substation civil and structural works and approve designs for tender and construction for project and team deliverables.  

The role provides specialist technical advice, develops design standards, and ensures high-quality outcomes through both internal teams and external design partners.

What You’Ll Do

• Lead and manage a team of Civil/Structural Engineers and Drafters to deliver high-quality designs aligned with project objectives and stakeholder requirements.
• Oversee design and approval of substation civil and structural works.
• Manage internal staff, design consultants, and the preparation/approval of designs for tender and construction.
• Support the Civil & Structural Design Manager by delivering specialist advice, reports, and managing project deliverables.

About You:

• Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering with extensive experience in structural and Civil design, ideally in the development of substation infrastructure.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
• Strong knowledge of Australian and International Standards, legislation, and quality assurance processes relevant to substation design and construction.
• Proficiency in engineering and design software (e.g., Microstran, STAAD.Pro, SpaceGass, Civil 3D, Tekla, PLS Tower).
• Demonstrated ability to deliver, review, and approve designs to meet project requirements.
