The Director of Fleet PMO provides leadership, vision, and direction for the centralized Fleet Program Management Office responsible for managing large-scale aircraft retrofit and entry into service programs for new aircraft types.

What You'Ll Do

  • Leads team to manage aircraft retrofit/entry into service programs, starting from scoping and request for services to buyer furnished equipment and supplier selection, milestone management and production support
  • Identifies potential risks early, assesses their impact and supports the development of preventative and/or mitigation strategies
  • Leads effective cross-functional meetings, driving key decisions and identifying when programs need to be escalated
  • Works closely with multiple stakeholders including Engineering, Tech Ops Planning, Customer Experience, Operations Planning & Performance, Flight Operations, Inflight, Fleet Planning, and
  • Network Planning to ensure successful completion of multi-year highly complex retrofit and new aircraft programs
  • Presents program progress to Officer leadership steering committee

All You'Ll Need For Success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7 years of leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional projects within the airline industry
  • 5+ years of airline program management experience, including experience with aircraft modification programs and cross-functional collaboration among Commercial, Operations, and Finance

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent) 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Demonstrates the highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership to identify, plan, and execute strategic initiatives
  • Strong understanding of airline/aircraft economics
  • Experience in supply chain and procurement
  • Basic understanding of aircraft engineering disciplines, regulatory requirements impacting aircraft programs, and aircraft maintenance programs and sourcing
  • Action oriented, results-driven leader with a natural aptitude for engaging employees
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly collaborative, form consensus, build relationships, and work productively with a broad range of experienced professionals throughout the company

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple large-scale programs on an ongoing basis and adjust priorities, as necessary, to meet shifting deadlines in a dynamic work environment
  • Exceptional leadership, decision-making skills, and critical thinking ability
  • Understanding of risks in aircraft programs, including supply chain delays, certification bottlenecks and integration challenges and how they could impact program outcomes, timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible in rapidly changing conditions and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to perform both independently and as a team member, oversee multiple assignments, complete projects on time and perform under pressure
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels, both verbally and written
  • Experience creating comprehensive, professional presentations and delivering effectively to senior management, enabling them to make appropriate decisions for the company’s future
  • Proven ability to build and facilitate relationships at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Ability to coach, mentor and serve as a role model for team members
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products, such as Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
