Job Description
Join ADGA’s Defence Services team in a high-impact leadership role, working closely with a key Canadian government client on mission-critical simulation and training initiatives that directly support the Canadian Armed Forces. As Senior Project Manager, you will be at the strategic and operational center of delivery. Acting as both a client-facing lead and an internal project champion, you'll drive complex IT and simulation projects forward with precision, accountability, and purpose.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring smooth communication and trusted partnership.
- Attend and support client meetings, set agendas, distribute meeting minutes, track decisions, and follow through on action items.
- Ensure all work is authorized and aligns with the client’s evolving requirements.
Project & Contract Delivery:
- Manage project scope, cost, schedule, configuration, and deliverables in alignment with Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Lead project planning and execution, including:
- Defining tasks and deliverables
- Estimating and proposing costs
- Allocating personnel and resources
- Coordinating travel and logistics
- Submitting security clearances and personnel qualifications
- Oversee task acceptance, execution, and compliance tracking to meet contract standards.

Reporting & Documentation
- Monitor and report on contract status, task progress, and financials.
- Prepare and submit monthly status reports and manage contract deliverables.
- Generate business reports, briefing materials, and executive summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Organizational Support
- Guide, mentor, and support project staff, promoting collaboration and accountability.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development.
- Work with ADGA’s Defence Services leadership team on operational management activities, including:
- Timesheet approvals
- Recruitment support
- Attending conferences and client events

Qualifications
Education (One of the following is required):
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Sciences, or Business Administration
- OR a Master’s/PhD in Project Management
- OR a Diploma in a field related to Project Management
Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
Experience:
- 10+ years as a Project Manager, leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- 3+ years (within the last 5) managing software or IT-related projects.
- Broad experience across different project types and methodologies.
Core Project Management Skills:
- Scope Management: Requirements gathering, WBS creation, validation, and control
- Schedule Management: Task sequencing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring
- Cost Management: Budget estimation, cost control, and financial reporting
- Risk Management: Risk identification, analysis, response planning, and mitigation
- Familiarity with Agile development processes and frameworks
- Experience in Modeling & Simulation (M&S) training applications.
Additional Information
- Able to obtain and maintain a Canadian Government Secret level Clearance
- Able to go onsite 5 days a week in the Ottawa area (Nepean and Carleton University)
